About the Owner
Emix'd jewelry was born out of a need to express myself and relieve stress. As a wife, mother and professional, I found myself lost in doing "stuff". One day during the pandemic, I decided to turn to an old hobby of making earrings to reduce stress. I listened to music as I created. I was inspired by the sound and images of black beauty to make a variety of pieces. As I took a deep dive, the influence of Black culture on fashion and music could be seen for decades, dare I say centuries. Just like music, the fashion and style of Black people globally has ignited cultural shifts. I wanted to show this impact through the jewelry I create. Black culture is not one note. It is a compilation of melodies, choruses, and beats. Diverse and beautiful. Through my jewelry, I capture moments to express what makes us so uniquely us. Making jewelry helped me feel empowered similar to how songs help people feel a sense of pride. I want people to feel empowered and beautiful when they wear the pieces of jewelry I have created.
